Dead-end hobby? Who cares

DJ-ing makes me happy.

I’m in a different world where I’m in control of how the puzzle fits together, figuring out how to keep the connection between songs. I don’t think of anything else, just the music blasting, one hand on the vinyl, the other on the fader.

I want to be a better DJ. No money for that though, equipment’s too expensive. If someone bought me Serato, I’d probably get everything else myself. But not right now… I’m still saving for my trip.

I’ve always wanted to play some sort of musical instrument and it seems that it might be the turntables (does that count?). I know it sounds like a silly choice of hobby… My parents probably wouldn’t understand it the most due to the cost.

I don’t think I can even meet a good amateur standard for a while yet and that’s okay with me. I just found something I like doing and I want to keep doing it for as long as I can. This probably won’t be the last such decision I make.
